March last year Al VK1RX and I took a 7 km walk from Mt Ginini car park to Mt Gingera to conduct a joint SOTA activation of Mt Gingera VK1/AC-002, a 10 point summit at 1855 metres ASL. Mt Gingera is in the Bimberi Wilderness area of the Namadgi National Park a beautiful place with amazing panoramic views of the ACT and southern NSW regions. It’s my favourite VK1 summit.
Fast forward, a fortnight ago Euclides PY2EV from Brazil, contacted me through this blog seeking permission to use a photograph taken by Al at Mt Gingera, for the cover of the 2014 Brazil Scouts Amateur Radio guide, a non-profit project. Euclides included in his request a commitment to acknowledge credit for use of the photograph.
Noting the non-profit status of the project and an opportunity to promote SOTA to scouts in Brazil, Al agreed to the request. On Monday Euclides wrote to Al and I to say the 2014 Scout Guide was launched on the weekend.
Below is the front cover of the 2014 Brazil Scouts Amateur Radio guide, author Euclides PY2EV and credits thanking Al VK1RX for his collaboration and contribution of his photograph.
