Winter Bonus Mt Tennent – 12 September 2014

Mt Tennent VK1/AC-025 1384 metres ASL 4 points, Namandgi National Park VKFF-377

Andrew VK1DA has published a short article on our trip to the summit of Mt Tennent Friday 12 Sep 14.

I thought I might complement Andrew’s post with the addition of map and terrain details.

Although the summit height is 1384 metres, VK1 SOTA height scales have the summit in the 4 point band.  With the addition of 3 winter points the beast is worth climbing.  By comparison I climbed Mt Foxlow in VK2 on Sunday 15 Sep 14, a 500 metre ascent over 6.5 km to a height of 1210 metres ASL, for 8 points plus the 3 winter bonus points.
