Amateur Radio Licence Upgrade – Callsign VK1AD

After waiting patiently for 2.5 weeks, today the ACMA granted me my 1st callsign preference ‘VK1AD’.
I would like to pass on my thanks to the staff working at the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) office in Melbourne. IMHO, the amateur radio licence administration process is working well.  🙂

I’m looking forward to using the new callsign tomorrow morning from Mt Coree VK1/AC-023.  I hope to contact Ron VK3AFW and Bernard VK3AV (both in Melbourne 440 km south-west) on 2m 144.2 MHz with signal propagation along commercial aircraft routes and where possible taking advantage of aircraft enhancement.

73, Andrew VK1AD
