Snowing in Canberra – Australia’s Capital City

13 July 2016 – yes it’s snowing in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Canberra

Pictures from a chilly Mt Ainslie at 846 metres ASL, SOTA Peak VK1/AC-040, where the temperature at 8 am is sub-zero.

Some of you are familiar with the steel-tube pole at the summit.  🙂

  2. Hi Andrew,
As Paul has said it has been cold here in the Adelaide Hills with snow in the area. Your post brought back two memories of being on Mount Ainslie, both good, but I am glad I am not there today! I really enjoy your photos. Thanks.

  3. And I thought it was cold in Brisbane this morning. It’s 19 degrees! Great photos.

  4. Not surprising Andrew being Canberra. We even had snow here yesterday in the Adelaide Hills, which is not a common event. So I’d expect Canberra would be getting that really cold blast of weather. Great photos.

    Best wishes mate,
